MOUNT PROSPECT, IL (BRAIN)—Sales of recreational transport equipment (bicycles, pleasure boats and motors, recreational vehicles and snowmobiles) declined to $27 billion in 2008, a 29 percent drop.

BRAIN classified sales rep Stacey Smith recently visited some of her extended family in Europe. She took some pictures in Amsterdam, where people obviously take their bicycle commuting seriously. They also take something else very seriously, but we'll just leave that up to your imagination.

EVANSTON, IL (BRAIN)—Lake Cycling has bolstered its outside sales rep force by hiring industry veterans to represent the brand in the Pacific Northwest, Texas, Okalahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
