DENVER (BRAIN) —  A U.S. bankruptcy judge has approved Giant Group's acquisition of Stages Cycling from Foundation Fitness for $20.1 million. The court approved a purchase agreement that had been opposed by some creditors and an inventor who is in a patent dispute with Stages.

DENVER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Spot Brand is suing Gates Corp. alleging the Denver-based belt-drive maker hasn’t been paying its licensing fees for the use of its patent for a frame feature allowing the installation of Gates’ seamless Carbon Drive systems.

OMAHA, Neb. (BRAIN) — Spia Cycling, a subsidiary of Giant Manufacturing, has emerged as a stalking horse bidder for the assets of Stages Cycling LLC. Stages, Foundation Fitness LLC and related companies filed for Chapter 11 protection in Nebraska’s federal bankruptcy court here on June 22.

SEATTLE (BRAIN) — A man who filed a class-action lawsuit in September against Rad Power Bikes for allegedly manufacturing a faulty fork and quick-release skewer design has dropped his complaint.

The notice of voluntary dismissal without prejudice was filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Seattle.

WILMINGTON, Del. (BRAIN) — Wahoo Fitness and Zwift have agreed to settle a patent suit over Zwift's Hub stationary trainer. 

A court filing Thursday shows both sides are asking the court to dismiss Wahoo's patent suit against Zwift and any counterclaims, with each side to pay their own legal fees.
