Kirk Pacenti, the company's owner, announced last year that he was closing down the company, but another party expressed interest in buying it. 

The retail tracking service says less traditional bikes are driving sales growth

PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. (BRAIN) —  The NPD Group says IBD bicycle dollar sales grew 6 percent in the 12 months ended in August, driven in large part by growth in sales of electric, hybrid and mountain bicycles.  

MELBOURNE, Australia (BRAIN) — Singlespeed and fixed-gear brand State Bicycle Co. has begun direct distribution in Australia, speeding delivery to customers there without international shipping fees.

Meetings begin Tuesday.

TAICHUNG, Taiwan (BRAIN) — Some product managers, distributors and suppliers began arriving here last week to have meetings even prior to the official start of Taichung Bike Week on Tuesday. Still, a good majority streamed into the host hotels — the Tempus, Evergreen and Splendor — throughout the day Monday.

Doty, the executive director of the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, will replace the League's longtime director Andy Clarke, who resigned in July.

ENCINITAS, Calif. (BRAIN) — Source Endurance will offer a three-day training camp for participants in next year's Belgium Waffle Ride, a San Diego-area endurance road event popular with many industry members.

The company did not say what assets it will buy, but indicated that it will market the Marzocchi brand worldwide and use the brand to hit new price points.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BRAIN) — Gita Sporting Goods Ltd. has hired the Vivion Group as its sales representative for Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas.

RUTLAND, Vt. (BRAIN) — A new organization, North American Cycle Sport, says it will support grass-roots bike racing by offering lower membership and insurance costs than USA Cycling.

SUN VALLEY, Idaho (BRAIN) — Scott Montgomery has left Club Ride Apparel, where he has been CEO for three and a half years. Club Ride founder Mike Herlinger will take the reins as interim CEO, the company announced.
