SEATTLE (BRAIN) — Estelle Gray, a longtime retailer and industry leader, died July 26 at 69, three years after being diagnosed with bladder cancer.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (BRAIN) — High-end bike brand Van Dessel will operate a pop-up store here from Sept. 5 until Sept. 25.

The store will be at 918 West Central Avenue and feature a selection of the brand’s most popular models, including road, gravel, mountain, e-mtb, and cyclocross bikes.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (BRAIN) — Industry veteran Chris Speyer, most recently Chief Merchandising Officer at REI Co-op, is joining the Canadian sports retailer Mountain Equipment Company. He will officially join MEC at the end of the month. 

PARK CITY, Utah (BRAIN) — Online retailer Competitive Cyclist was named the official U.S. retailer for Tour de France products for the third consecutive year. The partnership with Amaury Sport Organisation, which coordinates the Tour, was announced Thursday.

Kersten, in high-vis apparel, announced the Las Vegas show at the NBDA Summit Wednesday.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (BRAIN) — The industry will return to Las Vegas for a trade show for the first time since the 2017 when CABDA hosts its West event in the Nevada city next March.

TUCSON, Ariz. (BRAIN) — As the supplier community gathers in Tucson this week for the Bicycle Leadership Conference, two independent retailers are adding to the attendance of about 275.

NEW YORK (BRAIN) — New York-based retailer Rubber N' Road has opened a new pop-up store in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, for the second year. 

The store will be open from March 15 through May 15 and plans to host rides and events as well as showcasing the store's latest products. 

PITTSBURGH (BRAIN) — Dick's Sporting Goods' fourth-quarter sales were the largest in its history while its full-year net sales increased 5% over 2022.
