EMPORIA, Kan. (BRAIN) — The biggest event in gravel racing has a new name.

Race organizer Life Time announced Thursday that the Dirty Kanza will be renamed Unbound Gravel, with Garmin remaining the title sponsor.

BOSTON (BRAIN) — Whoop, which sells a wrist-based heart rate monitor and services through a monthly subscription, has closed a $100 million Series E financing round. The new funding, led by IVP, values Whoop at $1.2 billion.

Founder Linn Kastan is re-producing a 1980’s freestyle frame; Kastan's contributions to the sport recognized on new website.

KENT, Wash. (BRAIN) — Linn Kastan, the founder of the Redline BMX brand in the 1970s, is collaborating with the brand once again to produce a limited edition replica bike and launch a microsite devoted to Redline's history and Kastan's contributions.

OSAKA, Japan (BRAIN) — Shimano Inc. sales in its bicycle segment were down in the first nine months of 2020, but the company has revised up its full-year earnings and revenue projections due to greater use of bicycles globally during the COVID-19 pandemic.

MILWAUKEE (BRAIN) — Harley-Davidson, which has been eyeing the e-bike market for several years, announced Tuesday that it will create a dedicated e-bike division launching in March 2021.

The Serial 1 Cycle Company is named for the nickname of Harley's first motorcycle model, "Serial Number 1."

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (BRAIN) — Sam Nehme might own Broward Motorsports, but he's a mountain biker at heart.
