BEAVERTON, Ore. (BRAIN) — Longtime online retailer TeamEstrogen.com has announced it will close at the end of September.

Team Estrogen Inc. co-founder Susan Otcenas said a number of factors contributed to the decision, including price competition and changing consumer behaviors.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—The National Bicycle Dealers Association has agreed to buy the Barnett Bicycle Institute — the 30-year-old professional mechanics school — from its founder, John Barnett.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (BRAIN) — Thieves broke into Raleigh's new company store here early Monday, making off with six bikes. The company and police are asking the public and nearby retailers to be on the lookout for the stolen bikes, which include electric mountain bikes retailing for up to $5,000.

TEMPE, Ariz. (BRAIN) — State Bicycle Co. has opened a new concept store, State Rideshop. The full-service bike, skateboard and repair shop is located in the company's hometown of Tempe, Arizona, outside of Phoenix.

FLOWER MOUND, Texas (BRAIN) — Longtime Texas retailer Chad Plumlee has opened his third store, called Giant Lakeside. The new location will serve the market around the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including the communities of Flower Mound, Grapevine, and Coppell.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (BRAIN) — Jeffrey Patrick Archer, the owner of First Flight Bicycles in Statesville, North Carolina, died Wednesday evening after being struck by a car. Archer, 52, was walking across a street in Mooresville when he was hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

REDMOND, Wash. (BRAIN) —  Dennis Estrin, who founded Redmond Cycle in 1968 with his wife Marie, passed away on June 17 from complications of Lou Gehrig's disease. He had recently celebrated his 80th birthday.
