IRVINE, Calif. (BRAIN) — Shimano says manufacturers apparently didn’t follow its requirements when spec’ing front brakes on some electric share bikes, possibly causing problems that led to Lyft and Uber pulling the bikes from service.
NEW YORK (BRAIN) — MirraCo, the BMX brand founded by Dave Mirra, is for sale or license. Mirra founded the brand in 2006 with partner Jim Ford. BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — The boards of the Bicycle Product Suppliers Association and PeopleForBikes Coalition have each voted to merge the organizations. The merger must still be approved by a vote of all BPSA members.
The two nonprofit trade organizations began discussing the merger about 18 months ago.
REXFORD, N. Y. (BRAIN) — Prestacycle, a U.S. supplier of hand and inflation tools, is now the exclusive North American distributor for the European wheel and component brand Edco. Likewise, Edco, based in Germany, is now distributing Prestacycle products in Europe.
