SAUSALITO, Calif. (BRAIN) — Fantic USA, the North American subsidiary of the Italian e-bike manufacturer, is opening new headquarters in Denver, Colorado.
"The state of Colorado has truly embraced the bike and outdoor industries as key drivers of economic growth," Ken Miner, Fantic USA's general manager said. "Fantic has been welcomed with open arms and the ease of setup has been very impressive."
Fantic previously had a small office in Sausalito. It will continue to maintain a distribution center in New Jersey but the Colorado office will have a small warehouse and will start with about four employees. Rich Kelly, the brand's national sales manager, will remain based in Southern California.
Miner is the former U.S. sales manager for Accell's Haibike brand, which had its U.S. office for a time in Denver. Miner joined Fantic in March and said the move to Colorado was in the plans before he joined the company.
Colorado's Office of Outdoor Recreation Industry, a part of the state's Office of Economic Development and International Trade, worked with Fantic to set up the facility. Miner said the company will receive some tax incentives if it hits multiyear milestones for employment in the state.
Nathan Fey, director of the outdoor industry office, said, "Fantic is a perfect fit for Colorado's thriving outdoor recreation ecosystem and our state's iconic and accessible active lifestyle ... Their selection of Colorado is a testament to the partnership with our global business development team and our shared long-term market strategy to maintain Colorado's leadership position within the outdoor recreation industry."
Fantic recently launched its 2020 North American bike lineup and program to dealers and has added new sales representatives and agencies to serve key markets, Miner said. Fantic e-bikes are manufactured in Italy.
