BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (BRAIN) — Quality Bicycle Products' new 3P Select program allows its bike shop customers to sell Whisky Parts Co. products on Amazon and eBay. The program makes Whisky the first QBP house brand that dealers will be allowed to sell through third-party online platforms. 

PORTLAND, Ore. (BRAIN) — Custom wheel building company Sugar Wheel Works is joining forces with custom bike builders Breadwinner Cycles. The companies are based blocks from each other in Portland.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (BRAIN) — Outdoor Retailer will be looking to sell space to bike industry brands at its show in Denver this November. Outdoor Retailer is owned by Emerald Expositions, the owner of Interbike, which announced in December that it was canceling its 2019 show.

DENVER (BRAIN) — Denver-based Fly Pedals, which makes a platform conversion for clipless pedals, has been purchased by an investor who is looking to acquire other cycling accessory brands. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SQUAMISH, British Columbia (BRAIN) — Canada-based mountain bike website Pinkbike has acquired the road cycling website CyclingTips.com from BikeExchange.

Pinkbike, founded by Radek Burkat in 1998, claims more than 3 million unique visitors every month.

FAIRFAX, Calif. (BRAIN) — On Saturday, March 23 the Marin Museum of Bicycling will host a benefit to support mountain bike pioneer Charlie Cunningham. Cunningham had a tumble from his bike in 2016 and remains in treatment for severe complications suffered during his recovery. 

NEW YORK (BRAIN) — Erik Buell, one of the best known names in motorcycle technology, is launching a new brand that will offer an e-bike and electric motorcycle as its first products.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (BRAIN) — On Tuesday afternoon, Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon signed legislation that recognizes electric bikes as bicycles and enables e-bike riders to enjoy the same paths and trails as other bicycle riders in Wyoming.

For example, in January, one U.S. wholesaler sold one 26-inch dual suspension mountain bike to a customer, for $499 wholesale.

For the first time in several years, bike-related sales accounted for less than half of the company's revenues in 2018.

BRASELTON, Ga. (BRAIN) — Sales in Fox Factory's Specialty Sports Group — which comprises the company's bicycle brands: Fox and Marzocchi suspension, RaceFace and Easton Cycling — grew 14.9 percent last year, to $282 million, according to an earnings report Tuesday.

Company expects Tacx acquisition to boost fitness sales in 2019.

OLATHE, Kan. (BRAIN) — Garmin Ltd. on Wednesday reported a 4 percent jump in fourth-quarter revenue, to $932 million, as the company's aviation, marine, outdoor and fitness businesses grew a collective 13 percent compared with a year earlier. Revenue for the full year rose 7 percent to $3.35 billion.
