MADISON, Wis. (BRAIN) — Trek Bicycle has announced a new partnership with Bike Exchange, an online marketplace. The deal will allow North American Trek dealers to showcase and sell some Trek products online through the BikeExchange.com platform.

"One of our most important values is that we are dedicated to making our customers wildly successful and that includes giving them the tools they need to adapt their business to evolve along with customer needs and expectations," said Trek's North American regional sales Manager, Jon Rogers. "BikeExchange is a leading online marketplace and will provide incredible visibility and flexibility for retailers that take advantage of the platform."

BikeExchange was founded in 2007 in Australia. It now has 50 employees across four hubs (North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and Latin America) and eight countries: USA, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand & Colombia. The BikeExchange Group receives annual global traffic of 38 million visits to its sites. Over 2,000 retailers use the sites and there are over and 1,000 brands and 500,000 products globally. Since March this year, the company has seen a 450% increase in transactions and trading globally.

BikeExchange's platform will integrate with Trek dealers' Ascend POS system, allowing managers to manage their inventory and online sales without any additional work to their POS system required. Trek retailers that sign up to use the BikeExchange platform before November 1 will receive a 50% discount on referral transaction fees for a full year from date of signup.

Steve Hellin, BikeExchange's Head of North America, said, "We are very excited to launch this new partnership with Trek and their independent bicycle retailer network. As a platform to both enable e-commerce and promote more in-store sales, BikeExchange is the right partner to drive sales for Trek dealers."
