MONTEREY, Calif. (BRAIN) — Organizers of the Bicycle Leadership Conference have announced the agenda and speaker line up for the event, which is April 17-19 in Monterey, just before the Sea otter Classic.

LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. (BRAIN) — Bicycle Retailer and Industry News has extended the submission deadline for new product information and news to include in the annual Sea Otter Classic Festival & Gear Guide. The new deadline is this Friday, March 9.

FLETCHER, N.C. (BRAIN) — Cane Creek Cycling Components will sell five specially painted HELM suspension forks that were made for demo use at last month's Sea Otter Classic. The company is selling the forks for $900 each and donating $500 from each sale to the International Mountain Bicycling Association.

MONTEREY, Calif. (BRAIN) — Final attendance numbers were still being tallied Monday, but early numbers pointed to a record year for the Sea Otter Classic, which ended Sunday. The annual bike festival, expo and race hosted more than 400 exhibitors, five miles of branded fence and 920 sponsor banners.

MONTEREY, Calif. (BRAIN) — A moment of silence will be held Saturday at the Sea Otter Classic in memory of racer Steve Tilford, who died in a highway accident earlier this month at age 57.

The moment will be held prior to Saturday's men's cross-country race.

MONTEREY, Calif. (BRAIN) — WTB introduced a new tire in its Road Plus line today at the Sea Otter Classic. The new Byway Road Plus TCS tire is a 650x47c size, with tread and casing designed "to encourage riders to stray even farther into the dirt," the company said.
