BRAIN begins search for Top 100

Published June 22, 2012

LAGUNA HILLS, CA (BRAIN)—Bicycle Retailer & Industry News has begun the process of selecting this year’s top retailers. Store owners and managers are encouraged to self-nominate their shops. The magazine is also reaching out to the industry’s top suppliers, asking for nominations of their best accounts.

A nomination form is found inside the July 1 issue, which hits mailboxes this week. But retailers and suppliers can also download the form by clicking on the file link above. Nominations must be received by Aug. 1.

Leading this year’s Top 100 program is Rich Kelly. Kelly, who recently left Interbike, focused on dealer issues while there and has personally visited more than 450 stores throughout the country. Kelly is calling key suppliers seeking their thoughts on the selection process as well as names of retailers whom they consider to be among the nation’s best.

“It’s been great to discuss the program with so many excellent suppliers in the industry. There’s a lot of appreciation for dealers who are doing a great job and who are connected to their communities,” said Kelly, an avid cyclist. “Above and beyond sales volume, many suppliers don’t look just at dollars. They recognize that smaller dealers often do more for the industry than just sales,” he added.

The Top 100 will be honored at a VIP reception the first night of the Interbike trade show. The list will be included in the first day’s Show Daily and the November issue of the magazine will include a profile and photo of each retailer in a special section.
