PORTLAND, Ore. (BRAIN) — Islabikes is launching a line of performance kids bikes, including mountain bikes, cyclocross and road models. The bikes feature lightweight frames and components that are sized appropriately for kids of various ages and sizes.

VANCOUVER, Wash. (BRAIN) — The XACT price-point helmet is based on the iXS's XULT crossover full-face model, but has a slightly reduced spec to reach a retail price that is less than half that of the XULT.

OGDEN, Utah (BRAIN) — Mavic has unveiled its first full-carbon rim mountain bike wheels, the XA Pro Carbon. The company also is introducing an alloy-rim mountain bike wheel, the XA Elite, that shares some of the carbon wheels' features at a lower price.

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. (BRAIN) — Blackburn's new Wayside Side Entry Cage has a two-piece design that can be installed so the bottle is able to exit from either the right or left side. No extra hardware is required and the cage installs easily and quickly.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (BRAIN) — True Temper has decided to phase out its bicycle frame tubing program over the next year. The Memphis-based company will accept orders for its steel tubing through the end of this year; all production and shipments will end March 31, 2017.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (BRAIN) — Lindarets, LLC,  has licensed its catalog of bicycle parts and accessories to Minnesota's Wolf Tooth Components, which will manufacture and market the products under its name.

TAMPA, Fla. (BRAIN) — Atomik Carbon, which launched in 2014 with carbon fiber mountain bike wheels and components, is entering the road market with a line of three carbon road clincher wheels.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Rocky Mountain is recalling 17,300 bikes in the U.S and 61,000 in Canada because the front quick release can come in contact with the disc brake rotor.

SALT LAKE CITY (BRAIN) — Scott USA is recalling several models of road and cyclocross bikes, along with some framesets, that were spec'd with its house-brand Syncros seatposts because the posts can break. The company has received 11 reports of broken seatposts outside of the U.S. No injuries have been reported.

RANDOLPH, Mass. (BRAIN) — Delta is offering retailers a new point-of-purchase display that helps consumers answer their most common question about cellphone holders: "Does my phone or case fit?"

MILWAUKEE (BRAIN) — Milwaukee-based accessory brand BiKase is launching its newest product, the SuperBand, on Kickstarter. The SuperBand can be attached to various places on a bike (or stroller, golf cart or other ATV) and includes two elastic bands to hold anything from a rain jacket to a beer can.

SAN FRANCISCO (BRAIN) — Strava has updated its mobile apps with Live Segments, so athletes who use the company's app can see, in real time, when they are approaching a favorite segment and if they are on pace for a personal record or KOM.

CHICAGO (BRAIN) — SRAM has released a drivetrain and disc brake set specifically developed for use on electric mountain bikes.

SRAM EX1 will be available to OEMs this summer.

MADISON, Wis. (BRAIN) — Pacific Cycle is recalling 129,000 Schwinn-branded infant bike helmets, sold at Target between January, 2014 and last month.

INDIANAPOLIS (BRAIN) — Silca is bringing back the SuperPista, a pump first introduced in 1989. The redesigned SuperPista includes some features and materials that Silca uses in its SuperPista Ultimate pump, introduced about two years ago.

AUSTIN, Texas (BRAIN) — The newly formed Professional Bicycle Mechanics Association is selling PBMA T-shirts, with a percentage of proceeds going to World Bicycle Relief's "Mechanics for Mechanics" program, which buys the tools and parts for a mechanic to keep WBR's Buffalo bikes on the road.
