LEVIS, Québec (BRAIN) — Hawley-Lambert has reached a distribution agreement for the new Pirelli PZero Velo tire range, covering both Canada and the United States.
The PZero Velo range will initially be available in three different versions, borrowing nomenclature from Pirelli's F1 tires: silver for Road Racing, red for Time Trial and blue for the Four Seasons.
"We chose to undertake collaboration with Hawley-Lambert for the Canadian and United States markets because of their proven experience and outstanding reputation," said Johan Molenmaker, director of sales for Pirelli's bicycle business. "We were looking for a highly professional partner boasting a portfolio of premium brands, a widespread network and an in-depth knowledge of the cycling market and its related dynamics. We are certain that our partnership with Hawley-Lambert will make a vast number of North American customers appreciate the outstanding grip, great handling and reliability of our new bicycle tires."
Pat McGinnis, the commercial vice president for Hawley-Lambert, said, "To me, it says a lot that Pirelli would make such a large investment in cycling. To have such an iconic brand with its rich history re-enter the market says a lot about their confidence in the growth potential of cycling worldwide. Looking at the PZero Velo line, it's clear Pirelli's engineers used their years of racing experience to produce some of the most exciting road tires to hit the market in years."
The new Pirelli PZero Velo line will be available through North American retailers in September.
