INDIANAPOLIS (BRAIN) — SRAM is reducing its U.S. distributor count from nine to five, cutting off BTI, KHS, Cyclone and SBA.
"Despite the decision to terminate these relationships, SRAM is looking forward to working in a cooperative manner with these four distributors in the coming months to accomplish the practical tasks involved with concluding these business relationships," the company said.
SRAM is continuing to work with QBP, J&B Importers, Hawley, Giant and Trek.
Brian Gavette, SRAM's director of sales and marketing for the Americas, said, "The move is to create more efficiency by streamlining distribution. Optimizing distribution allows us to be more competitive while offering more value to the retailer. We truly appreciate the service of all our previous distributors."
"This is something we've been evaluating for quite a while," Gavette said. "As industry distribution channels continue to change, it's a natural evolution of business as well, and we're confident that the remaining distribution partners will have inventory on hand to avoid any possible shortages."
