Squirt manufacturer settles claim against former distributor

Published September 29, 2014

BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Bikinvention 2 CC, the South African maker of Squirt wax chain lube, says it has settled the case it brought against its former U.S. distributor.

The company had filed suit in U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado against John Tucker, and his associated companies, Squirt, LLC and Enduro, LLC, alleging that Tucker sold a counterfeit product under the Squirt name.

Terms of the settlement are confidential. A statement from Bikinvention's CEO, Dewet Marais, and its outside legal counsel, Michael Martin of Hamil/Martin, said they were satisfied with the result.

"By ensuring that only genuine Squirt wax lube will be sold under the Squirt name, the integrity of the brand was maintained and Bikinvention customers can be confident in the product they are purchasing," a Squirt press release said.
