Published June 11, 2014

ST. PAUL, Minn. (BRAIN) — Park Tool is hosting a training program for electric bicycle technicians July 14-15 at its headquarters in St. Paul. The program, developed by the Light Electric Vehicle Association, is designed to give bike shop mechanics the information they need to service electric bicycles.

The hands-on training program, divided into three levels, takes participants from a basic introduction to e-bikes to the ability to diagnose complex failures and repair components, operate a computer-controlled battery analyzer and provide battery analyses to customers. The cost is $1,000 for non-LEVA members and $500 for LEVA members and includes lunch on both days and course materials. Travel and lodging are not included.

LEVA is scheduling additional classes throughout North America and plans to offer the training program at Interbike. For more information, contact Heather Marshman at heather@levassociation.com.
