Action Sports sales up 16%.

ANOKA, Minn. (BRAIN) — Vista Outdoor Inc., the parent of Bell, Giro, Blackburn, CamelBak and other brands, announced that its sales were up 29% in its second fiscal quarter, to $575 million. Gross profit in the quarter was up 79% from the same period last year, to  $162 million.

WATERLOO, Wis. (BRAIN) — Trek changed its bike packaging to incorporate lower-impact and recyclable materials earlier this year. On Friday the company released details of its new bike box and internal packaging and made a commitment to move to 100% recyclable and plastic-free packaging.

Madison city workers make use of an e-cargo bike in the pilot.

MADISON, Wis. (BRAIN) — Saris is now working with Urban Arrow, the Dutch e-cargo bike brand, and the e-bike motor supplier Bosch to build and distribute commercial e-cargo bikes to the public sector in North America. Gazelle Bikes remains Urban Arrow's North American distributor of consumer e-cargo bikes.

BOSTON (BRAIN) — Whoop, which sells a wrist-based heart rate monitor and services through a monthly subscription, has closed a $100 million Series E financing round. The new funding, led by IVP, values Whoop at $1.2 billion.
