STARLIGHT, IN (BRAIN)—With the temperatures in the mid-40s, approximately 700 cycling enthusiasts took to the road Sunday morning for the 32nd annual Harvest Homecoming Bicycle Tour.

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN)—More than 80 percent of bicycle retailers who responded to a recent Bikes Belong survey said bike advocacy makes bicycling easier, safer and more widespread. Sixty percent of the respondents said advocacy leads to more sales in their stores.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA (BRAIN)—The inaugural Cycle of Influence [COI] Conference has been postponed to 2010, with tentative dates set for October 20 - 22.

According to Sergio Bravo, executive producer of COI, the delay will only "help us and our supporters plan better for the 2010 event."

LAGUNA HILLS, CA (BRAIN)—True Temper Sports Inc. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, largely because of a downturn in the golf equipment industry.

The company, best known for making golf club shafts, also serves the bicycle industry with tubing, forks and seatposts.
