BOULDER, CO (BRAIN)—When asked about the "coolest" gift active American could give or receive this holiday season, they named cycling equipment and accessories and GPS instruments as the top items.
Athletic/fitness and outdoor apparel topped the list of items active Americans plan to purchase this holiday season, according to a press release. According to a recent study by Leisure Trends Group among its Most Active Americans Panel, 39 percent of active Americans plan to purchase athletic/fitness apparel for someone on their shopping list this year, while 38 percent plan to purchase outdoor apparel. Those who receive the gifts will not be the only beneficiaries of these shopping trips, however, as half (50 percent) of respondents indicate they plan to purchase these items for themselves.
