NEW YORK CITY, NY (BRAIN) — Bert Cebular, founder of the NYCeWheels retail shop, died Wednesday in a paraglider accident, according to local news reports.
Cebular founded the shop on Manhattan's Upper East Side in 2001. It specializes in folding and electric bikes and scooters.
HERCULES INLET, ANTARCTICA (BRAIN)—Utah retailer Daniel Burton has left his base camp in Antarctica in an attempt to be the first person to ride a bicycle to the South Pole. If he succeeds, he’ll cover 1,500 miles roundtrip from the coast inland to the pole and back.
PARK CITY, UT (BRAIN) — Backcountry has purchased Bergfreunde.de, an outdoor equipment e-commerce retailer that serves Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Backcountry, which owns CompetitiveCyclist.com, said the purchase marks its entry into the European market.
