Owner Sammy Radi opens dedicated Giant and Liv Store

ST. CHARLES, Ill. (BRAIN) — Longtime retailer Sammy Radi, who owns Sammy's Bikes in St. Charles, Ill., has opened Giant Fox Valley, a store dedicated solely to the Giant and Liv brands. The 2,400 square-foot shop is located across the street from Sammy's Bikes.

"It was the wise thing to do because of how Giant is moving forward -- where the brand is and where it's going," said Radi, who has been involved with cycling in some way for more than three decades. "Liv is a very exciting part of the business that I was missing. Now we are going to move the metal!"

Radi and his staff worked with Giant's retail services team in designing the layout and look of the store, which is housed in an old auto shop and features a large garage entrance with a roll-up glass door. Giant and Liv messaging and signage help customers navigate the brands' product mix, which includes bikes for the entire family, as well as a full array of clothing and accessories.

Store manager Ferdie Franada said that having one brand simplifies the selling process and helps staff provide better customer service.

"The model selection and price point makes selling the bikes and accessories easy," said store manager Ferdie Franada. "Having only Giant and Liv in the store lets me focus on a customer's needs, rather than remembering multiple lines of bikes."

No-drop rides leave from the store on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. A grand opening was held June 12-15 with group rides, a raffle and trials performances by Giant pro rider Jeff Lenosky.
