Just read a good story on Entrepreneur.com about BMX legend Dave Mirra and skate stars Ryan Sheckler and Paul Rodriguez.
It basically just talked about how they're setting themselves up for life after sport. And it got me to thinking about an old web story I wrote about that very subject, where I talked to Hans Rey, Brian Lopes and John Tomac about that very subject. All of those guys are well on their way to being just as successful off the trails as they are on, with Rey's Wheels4Life charity orginization and Lopes--with all the countless companies he works with designing product and such. Well Tomac already kind of is, with a bike line that has his name on the downtube, need I say more.
Hopefully some of the younger guys in the sport are thinking about life after racing as well. Because, as we all know, time flies when you're having fun.
