SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (BRAIN) — Assos of Switzerland has established a new U.S. office in this city's East Central neighborhood.
The new facility has 2,200 square feet of space and houses Assos' U.S. marketing, events, and sales teams, along with a 700 square foot showroom to host retailer showings, meetings, product clinics, parties, and to act as a hub for local group rides.
The location provides easy access to road and mountain bike rides and the city's growing cycling-friendly infrastructure, the company said.
The company plans to support local programs that create better access to cycling through youth organizations and infrastructure. The company also will advocate for causes such as the Utah Clean Air Alliance and public land preservation, it said.
"We chose to set up shop in Salt Lake City because of the strong culture of outdoor engagement and access to the outdoors," says Phil Duff, the chairman and CEO of Assos. "The region hosts one of the major U.S. races with the Tour of Utah, and has an established cycling community for both road and mountain bike. Along with a quality airport and a capable, educated workforce, we feel Salt Lake is the ideal location for us to grow our U.S. business."
Assos has handled North American operations for years through its office in Montreal. "We are focusing efforts and investing in the U.S. cycling market and we couldn't fully do that without establishing a home base," says Aldo Radamus, the managing director of the Americas for Assos. "With the new space in Salt Lake we can be more present in the marketplace, support the needs of our retailers more effectively, and have a dedicated showroom for our sales and marketing team."
The Montreal office will continue to house logistics, customer service, finance, and the Canadian sales team, while the existing New Jersey distribution center and the newly established Los Angeles warehouse will be the hub for shipping.
The new office is at 411 South 800 East in Salt Lake City.
