ASI investigating how Costco got some SE Bikes

Published May 19, 2016

PHILADELPHIA (BRAIN) — Advanced Sports International, the owner of SE Bikes, said it is investigating how Costco got about 50 of its bikes, which the warehouse retailer has been selling at its stores around the country. ASI said it did not consent to selling the bikes through Costco.

George Simone, the vice president of ASI sales, said ASI management believes one of its dealers or distributors sold the bikes. The bike also appeared on Costco's website

"Unfortunately this is a pretty common occurrence with this particular retailer and many brands have shown up there," said Simone. " This type of sale violates the SE dealer/distributor agreement and will lead to the termination of this dealer or distributor."

Along with SE Bikes, ASI owns Fuji, Kestrel, Breezer, Phat Bikes and Oval Concepts.
