PHILADELPHIA (BRAIN) — Mark Pippin has joined Advanced Sports International as senior product and sourcing manager. Pippin will oversee sourcing and supply-chain management for all of ASI's brands, which include Fuji, SE Bikes, Kestrel, Breezer, Phat Cycles and Oval Concepts. Pippin will also lead product development for the SE and Phat Cycles brands.
Pippin comes from Electra, where he was director of product development for the past six years and helped transition the brand after its acquisition by Trek. Prior to Electra, Pippin was the sourcing manager for Bontrager and spent seven years as a product manager at SRAM for drivetrain components. He also worked as director of product at Schwinn from 1992 until 2001.
"We are thrilled to bring in someone with Mark's extensive industry experience and background in the BMX and cruiser markets," said Pat Cunnane, ASI's CEO and president. "His knowledge and expertise will be a tremendous asset to our team and a big support to our continued growth."
"I'm excited to work with a company that respects the authenticity and heritage of its brands," said Pippin. "I'm especially happy about working with SE — I raced for Scot Breithaupt back in the day — and of course Phat Cycles, where I hope to use my cruiser experience to elevate the brand."
Pippin, who lives in Encinitas, California, will be headquartered in ASI's West Coast office in Huntington Beach, California,
