(BRAIN) — Thule has acquired Aeroe, a New Zealand-based company specializing in bike packing bags, racks and accessories. Thule said the Aeroe products will be integrated within the Thule brand by the second quarter next year.
"The Aeroe system is a natural extension of the Thule bike bags portfolio, opening up new possibilities for the MTB and gravel communities," said Baptiste Chaussignand, Thule's director of category management for bike products. "It's a clever bikepacking solution that's easy to mount on virtually any bike, keeps your gear secure, and delivers rock-solid stability on the trail."
The line will build on Thule's existing Tour Rack offerings, the company said.
Aeroe was founded by brothers Mike and Paddy Maguire in New Zealand about 12 years ago. Its first product was the Spider Rear Rack, which attaches to a bike's seatstays, allowing quick attachment and removal regardless of the bike's bolt-on attachments.
Terms of the agreement were not released this week. Thule acquired a Swiss dog crate company in May for CHF 10.1 million (about $12.3 million). In 2024 it acquired Quad Lock for $327 million.
The move comes about a month after MVC Group, the Italian company that owns Castelli and other brands, acquired the U.K.-based bikepacking brand Tailfin.
