Published November 18, 2015

PASO ROBLES, Calif. (BRAIN) — The second annual Eroica California, the U.S. edition of Italy's L'Eroica, will be held April 8-10. The vintage road bike event will expand to a three-day festival next year, celebrating cycling's historic roots, with a Concours d'Elegance, Vintage Swap Meet, Cycling Expo, live entertainment, and vintage bike ride.

The grand finale of Eroica California is the vintage ride. On Sunday, April 10, an estimated 1,500 cyclists will don vintage cycling apparel and set off on pre-1987 era bikes on one of four scenic routes through gravel and paved roads. Organizers will offer routes of 120 , 85, 67 and 38 miles. Each route has rest stops complete with gourmet food and drink to refuel while taking in the California scenery of vineyards, mountain vistas, and the Pacific Coast.

The event will benefit the Hospice of San Luis Obispo County. More information at eroicacalifornia.com.
