NEW YORK (BRAIN) — A musical set in a Brooklyn bike shop will return to the stage next month as the Theater For The New City presents "Bike Shop" from Sept. 11-27.
The play was created by actress and former shop owner Elizabeth Barken and is being directed by Gretchen Cryer. The new performance has an updated script with a new character. In the performance, Barkan tells the story of three generations of characters as she builds and fixes real bicycles on the stage. Cyclists are encouraged to ride their bikes to the theater and park them on stage as a part of the show.
The Theater For The New City is 155 First Avenue. The play will be performed Thursdays through Saturdays at 7 pm and Sundays at 3 pm during its run. Tickets are $15. More information at www.bikeshopmusical.com.
