SOMERVILLE, Mass. (BRAIN) — Clean Bottle is sponsoring the 2015 Amgen Tour of California as the official water bottle partner.
In 2010, the founders of Clean Bottle launched the brand with a guerrilla marketing campaign at the Tour de France, donning a giant-sized "Bottle Boy" costume to chase riders and compete for TV air time. The stunt sold them over $70,000 worth of water bottles to successfully launch their product amongst cyclists.
The company has since grown its product line to include three variations of the sport bottles, as well as the Square, which landed on the cover of WIRED Magazine and was awarded the Red Dot Award for product design.
"As cyclists and fans of the Tour of California ourselves, we are honored to be supporting this race with custom Clean Bottles for this event," said Lee Peters, director of sales and marketing for Clean Bottle. "We continually take pride in customizing our bottles for key events and look forward to taking part in the most prestigious cycling race in the U.S."
Clean Bottle will be providing a line of limited release, custom Clean Bottle bottles created for the event.
