Catalyst adding five new markets for BikeLife magazine

Published December 22, 2014

BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Catalyst Communication is adding five new markets in 2015 for its BikeLife magazine. The company also has hired Brian Bauer as a senior account manager.

BikeLife launched this year in three cities: Boulder, Colorado; Kansas City, Missouri; and Tucson, Arizona. Next year the company will add Denver; Anchorage, Alaska; Tempe and Mesa, Arizona; and Salt Lake City. The company is also considering adding seven other cities later next year.

Bauer is the former owner of Trek Bicycle Store Boulder and was a former client of Catalyst. He also brings 15 years of sales and marketing experience in the bicycle industry, from large cycling events and festivals to retail.

"As a former retailer, I think Catalyst is on to something with BikeLife," said Bauer. "I think that the really local information in BikeLife that tells people where they can ride safely and makes it look compelling — that's the way to grow our markets."

Catalyst expects to print and distribute 400,000 to 500,000 copies of BikeLife in 2015, with the first issue in March.
