Southern California Bicyclist under new ownership

Published November 28, 2014

COSTA MESA, Calif. (BRAIN) — Southern California Bicyclist, a regional, bimonthly publication, has a new owner. Christopher Reynolds has acquired the magazine from longtime owner and founder Will Decker.

Decker said he started the magazine, which is free at Los Angeles and Orange County area bike shops, 20 years ago as a semi-retirement way to enjoy the sport. But at 80 years of age, Decker said it was time to "turn the reins over to a younger person with fresh, new ideas."

The November/December edition is the first under the new ownership. Decker said the plan is to continue to publish six issues per year.

Decker said Reynolds is an avid cyclist and has managed his own marketing company designing websites. He takes the helm as editor and publisher.

The magazine's contact information: 1300 Logan Avenue, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Reynolds can be reached at (949) 264-3346 or chris@scbicyclist.com.
