IRMO, S.C. (BRAIN) — KindHuman will sponsor professional racer Adam Myerson for the 2014 cyclocross season. Myerson is the first sponsored pro for the start-up brand.
Myerson, who will race for his own Cycle-Smart team, will compete on KindHuman's KÜDÜ bikes this season.
“We’ve been working with Adam, helping to host the Cycle-Smart ‘Cross Camp here in South Carolina and he’s such a professional on and off the bike," said KindHuman co-founder, Adam Abramowicz. "Adam does so much for the cycling and cyclocross communities, as a coach and rider, he is a great ambassador for the sport. He’s an all around rad guy and I’m stoked to have him driving the KÜDÜ around courses this season!”
Myerson said, “I chose to move to KindHuman this season because I was impressed with their vision for the business, the bikes, and how to impact the sport in general. Ethics and social justice are part of the personality of the brand, and I appreciate that approach. It was also clear that KindHuman has a lot of respect for me as a person and an athlete, and values that I have to offer … It’s an opportunity to develop a long-term relationship that should extend beyond my professional career.”
Myerson added that he will opt for a KÜDÜ with cantilever brakes rather than discs.
“I’m excited that KindHuman is willing to buck the industry trend and keep a high-end carbon ‘cross bike with cantilevers in its line up. After a year on discs, I saw no braking advantage that was worth the weight penalty, and am looking forward to going back to a light bike that doesn’t make me groan every time I put it on my shoulder. That paint scheme is pretty hot, too.”
