VENICE, Calif. (BRAIN) — Commuter bike brand Linus emailed retailers this week of its plans to close. Founded here in 2007, Linus manufactures urban/city bikes, e-bikes, and kids' bikes.
"After nearly 20 years, we are sad to announce that Linus will be winding down operations," according to the email. "We are grateful for the experience and for everything we've learned along the way. We will always be proud of the brand we built and the part we played in getting more people riding."
Adam McDermott and Chad Kushner founded the brand, which has retailers nationwide, including a showroom in Venice, with distributors globally. Its bikes are known for their French styling from the 1950s and 1960s.
BRAIN has emailed Linus for comment.
