Mechanic pay and training, Frostbike coverage and more in new BRAIN

Published March 7, 2014

LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. (BRAIN) — Bike mechanic pay is a hot topic on the Internet recently, and the new issue of Bicycle Retailer & Industry News takes a deep look at the issue.

The March 15 issue of BRAIN, which will be arriving in mailboxes next week, features an article about the National Bicycle Dealer Association's proposed bike mechanic certification program, which could help protect dealers from liability, improve the quality and value of the service offered and perhaps help increase mechanics' pay. The new magazine issue also surveys some of the nation's top retailers for tips on how they hire and retain top service personnel.

The new issue also includes full coverage of QBP's Frostbike event and a look at the distributor's occasionally bumpy roll out of its new website. It also features retailing tips and history from BRAIN's recent Dealer Tour in Miami, a look at the differing BMX strategies of two top brands owned by Accell, and looks at why Easton-Bell Sports is set to become BRG Sports.

All the articles in the issue are exclusive to BRAIN's print edition and never appeared on this website.
