Faircloth leaves Marin, forms design firm

NOVATO, Calif. (BRAIN) — Jason Faircloth has left Marin Bikes, where he was vice president of product development, to start an industry design, development and sourcing company called Darkline Design.

Faircloth started at Marin in 2003.

"It's been 10 years for me, and the last two years in particular have been really great," Faircloth said. "I've enjoyed being part of the transition team; from the old Marin to the new Marin. With model year 2015 wrapping up, from a development standpoint, and the two-year redesign of the entire line nearly complete, the time seems right now, both for me and for Marin, to step away."

He said Darkline includes a group of engineers, industrial designers, graphic designers, and product specialists.

"With the experience I have, and the relationships I've built over the years, this seems like a natural next step," said Faircloth.

"Darkline Design's real specialty is getting stuff done. Ideas can come and go, and many great ideas die before being realized simply because people don't know how take the next step. That's where Darkline Design comes in. This is a new adventure, and I'm quite excited about the possibilities."
