Sporting Goods Federation Moves to Bern

Published May 18, 2011

LAUSANNE, Switzerland (BRAIN)—The World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) has moved its headquarters within Switzerland from Lausanne to Bern. The move will locate the agency, which is representing bike brands in technical issues to the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), closer to the sporting goods industry.

WFSGI’s new office will be in the same building with several companies. “We move because we wanted to be closer to the industry,” said WFSGI secretary general Robbert de Kock. “Having a retail chain as well as several showrooms of our members in the same building is one of the key advantages of our new home.”

Furthermore Switzerland’s capital is ideally located between Lausanne, home of the International Olympic Committee, and Zurich, where WFSGI’s associate member FIFA is headquartered. WFSGI also will be able to use the rental savings and the support of the Bern Economic Development Agency to further expand services and support for its members.

WFSGI’s new address is:

Obere Zollgasse 75
P.O. Box 1664
3072 Ostermundigen/Bern
Switzerland
Phone: +41 31 939 60 61
Fax: +41 31 939 60 69

The URL of WFSGI’s website (www.wfsgi.org) will remain the same.
