TAIPEI, Taiwan (BRAIN)—Few U.S. distributors and retailers have heard the name Zixtro. But most instantly recognize names like OGIO, Callaway, Cleveland and Oakley. Zixtro, a Taiwanese company, has been making high-end golf bags for them for more than 20 years, said Tell Tan, vice-president of sales and marketing.
At last year’s Taipei Cycle Show, Zixtro introduced a full line of cycling bags including seat-packs, handlebar bags, panniers and rear racks. Now the company is searching for an American distributor to sell its full line of bags and racks, said Tan.
Currently the company has distribution throughout Asia and recently signed Spain’s BH to distribute its line in Portugal, France and Spain. “The feedback from Asia, Australia, Europe and even Canada and Latin America is positive and we’ve been receiving inquiries from the U.S., “ he said.
D’Amour Bicycle and Sports distributes the brand in Canada. “We now believe the time is right to start distribution and penetrate the U.S. market,” Tan added. Zixtro’s line generally targets causal riders and commuters. “We’ve invested significant amounts of time and funds in developing this new range of bike bags,” he said.
