ANTWERP, Belgium (BRAIN)—Lazer SA's bicycle helmet division has new owners, as division manager Sean van Waes and sales manager Peter Steenwegen take over.
Lazer SA manufacturers motorcycle and paragliding helmets as well.
Thanks to the success in rapidly increasing their share of the bicycle helmet market, both parties have decided to separate the bicycle division from the rest of the company. The Lazer brand name will be fully retained for the marketing of its products. The new company, Lazer Sport NV, will be based in Antwerp, Belgium.
“Our objective has always been to find an excellent synergy between design, comfort and technology,” van Waes said. “We will continue our focus on developing highly valued products.”
“Distributed in more than 50 countries, developing helmets with unique customer features and a strong marketing focus, we are ready for the future,” Steenwegen said. “Lazer has always been a high-end brand and has a fully developed range of road, MTB, BMX, downhill, kids, ladies, urban and commuter helmets.”
Since 2000 van Waes has developed the bicycle division of the Lazer brand together with his right hand man Steenwegen. “With our new top products, ongoing investments and the support of our distributors we are confident to reach our targets,” van Waes said.
