Canari Cyclewear Hires Erik DeKold

Published October 16, 2007

VISTA, CA (BRAIN)—Canari Cyclewear has appointed Erik DeKold as national sales manager for their Independent Bicycle Dealers and Custom divisions, a newly created position within the company.

DeKold will be responsible for expanding Canari Cyclewear's business opportunities throughout the country with the help of their rep force and inside sales team. This adjustment, which will begin November 1, 2007, will allow Jerry Newray, previous national sales manager, to expand his role within sales and marketing as sales director; with increased focus on marketing and international expansion.

DeKold is no newcomer to the world of cycling. After spending five years managing one of North Central Florida’s most successful bike shops and racing at the top level for the University of Florida Cycling Team, DeKold pursued a career within the cycling industry, starting as an independent sales representative. His lines included brands such as Canari, BikeMine, Speedplay, SockGuy and Bianchi.

“I am extremely excited by this opportunity to expand on my success in the national market and look forward to becoming a part of the Canari family," DeKold said.

It does not appear that it will be a difficult transition considering the close working relationship between Canari and DeKold over the past few years.

All at Canari Cyclewear are also excited about DeKold joining their team. "Given our existing IBD and custom business, we felt it necessary to create this position to maintain steady growth as well as provide a high level of service to our dealers," said Scot Robinson, Canari Cyclewear president. "While Erik focuses on National sales efforts, we can now give attention to international growth and other opportunities."
