LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. (BRAIN) — The new issue of Bicycle Retailer & Industry News, arriving in a subscribers' mailboxes this week, features coverage of our most recent Dealer Tour, which visited retailers and other industry members in North and South Carolina.
The new issue also includes an analysis of what the Trump election will mean to the bike industry's Asian trade issues. Editors Marc Sani and Matt Wiebe teamed up to write the Trump analysis.
"Trump has pledged to hit Chinese imports with a 45 percent tariff and label the country as a currency manipulator," Sani and Wiebe note. Such a tariff would have huge implications for the global bike industry, but the authors note that Trump's plans are more easily said than done.
The new issue also includes the latest BPSA figures, which showed that U.S. supplier shipments to dealers through the third quarter were off 8 percent compared to the same period last year. And the issue contains a report from the most recent Taichung Bike Week, where OE product managers met with suppliers to plan bike models for model year 2018, 2019 and beyond.
These highlights are in addition to regular BRAIN departments like State of Retail, Global Briefs, Mad Dog Unleashed, Tech Briefs and Through the Grapevine that are only published in the magazine.
