LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. (BRAIN) — The latest issue of Bicycle Retailer & Industry News features a look at how the surging value of the U.S. dollar is affecting prices of bike goods in the U.S. and abroad.
The newest issue also includes a look at how suppliers and retailers are eying the market for lower priced bikes as the industry’s long-term bread and butter demographic of enthusiasts is aging out of prime bike riding and buying age.
Matt Wiebe’s article on the trends in bike mix being offered by the U.S. industry is part of BRAIN’s annual statistic package. Wiebe looks at the numbers of bikes imported for each product category over time, as well as the dollar volume of those imports.
The stats issue also takes a deep look at new research on American bike riders — who they are, why they ride and why some don’t. And this year’s stats package includes a look at trends in U.S. imports of bike saddles, pedals and derailleurs.
