BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) — Total IBD sales grew to $139 million in November, a 1 percent increase compared with a year earlier, according to Leisure Trends Group’s RetailTRAK IBD sales summary. While unit sales declined by 5 percent, average retail selling prices rose 6 percent.

KENT, WA (BRAIN) – Diamondback Bicycles has signed on as official bike sponsor of the Optum Pro Cycling UCI continental team. Optum’s men’s and women’s squads will race this year aboard Diamondback’s Podium Equipe model.

The partnership marks Diamondback’s first sponsorship of a professional road team.

Peachtree Bikes lost all its inventory, fixtures and memorabilia.

ATLANTA, GA (BRAIN) — Peachtree Bikes will reopen in a new location after its flagship store was destroyed by a fire in early December that also damaged several other businesses occupying a historic building located in Atlanta’s Buckhead district. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire.

POZZOLEONE, Italy  (BRAIN) — Riccardo Bigolin, who founded Selle Royal and saw it grow into one of the world’s premium saddle companies, died on New Year’s Day. He had turned 85 on Dec. 28.

That's when the Kodak camera company successfully sued the maker of Kodak bicycles, arguing that the bike's name devalued its trademark.
