LÉVIS, Quebec (BRAIN) — Hawley-Lambert, parent company of U.S. distributor Hawley USA and Canadian distributor Lambert, has signed a letter of intent to acquire Simcoe Bicycles, a city bike manufacturer based in Toronto.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (BRAIN) — A fixture in the Southern California bike retail scene for more than two decades, Sean Flynn announced this week that he has sold his two stores to Specialized. Flynn opened the original Surf City Cyclery location as a Specialized concept store in Huntington Beach in 2006.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Orbea is working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall about 715 Avant bikes and framesets, because of concerns over cracking forks. The relevant forks were for use with disc brakes.

SAN DIEGO (BRAIN) — BST Nano Carbon, a design and composites manufacturer, has acquired Ellsworth Handcrafted Bicycles and will be manufacturing Ellsworth carbon frames in its San Diego facility.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (BRAIN) — Hawley USA is the new exclusive distributor of OGIO Endurance Collection products to the IBD channel, Hawley announced Wednesday.

The agreement began Sept. 1 and Hawley wil display OGIO products in its booth at next week's Interbike show.

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN) — BMC’s Impec concept bike wasn’t the only theoretical display bike on show at Eurobike. Canyon Bicycle, which is not distributed in the U.S. currently, showed a wild idea for a totally wired (and wireless) high performance full suspension road bike.

Pages
