TAMPA, Fla. (BRAIN) — Atomik Carbon is launching a new consumer-direct sales program that will deliver its carbon fiber components and wheels to local retailers for pickup. Dealers who already stock Atomik products will receive a payment at a higher rate than non-stocking dealers who participate in the program.

Kirk Pacenti, the company's owner, announced last year that he was closing down the company, but another party expressed interest in buying it.

The retail tracking service says less traditional bikes are driving sales growth

PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. (BRAIN) —  The NPD Group says IBD bicycle dollar sales grew 6 percent in the 12 months ended in August, driven in large part by growth in sales of electric, hybrid and mountain bicycles.

Meetings begin Tuesday.

TAICHUNG, Taiwan (BRAIN) — Some product managers, distributors and suppliers began arriving here last week to have meetings even prior to the official start of Taichung Bike Week on Tuesday. Still, a good majority streamed into the host hotels — the Tempus, Evergreen and Splendor — throughout the day Monday.
