WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — It will take just a few short weeks before the U.S. bike market sees significant wholesale and retail price increases on bikes, parts and accessories due to the long-delayed 25% tariff on Chinese imports, which finally took effect Friday morning.

Dorel says increased IBD sales challenge the industry's negative trend.

MONTRÉAL (BRAIN) — Dorel Industries saw sales growth in the specialty bicycle market in the first fiscal quarter this year, the company reported Friday. Dorel's Cycling Sports Group offers the Cannondale and GT brands in the IBD market.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) —If nothing changes very soon, a 25% tariff will hit most bike products imported to the US from China, starting at 12:05 a.m. Friday.

One bike importer said he’s already seeing the extra fees appear on documents for shipments arriving next week.
