BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Investigators are trying to find the driver who struck Andrew "Bernie" Bernstein on Saturday as the industry veteran was riding home from a velodrome workout.

I think most bike shops think they offer good — even great — customer service. But, when Bicycling magazine publishes a story about bike shops titled, "Hey, Bike Shops: Stop Treating Customers Like Garbage" and then cites its survey that shows 60% of the respondents said they had a "negative experience," maybe it's time to look at your customer service with fresh eyes.

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. (BRAIN) — About two months after announcing that it planned to reinvest in its bike helmet and accessory brands, Vista Outdoor has laid off 14 people at its Scotts Valley facility, which houses the Bell, Giro and Blackburn headquarters. The layoffs represent about 10% of the work force at the facility.

HEERENVEEN, Netherlands (BRAIN) — Accell Group N.V. reported total group revenues of 683 million euros ($766 million) in its first fiscal half, up 7.4% from the same period last year. Net profit for the group was up 16.5% to 29.7 million euros.
