A ceremony in honor of the late Clay Mankin, founder of City Cycle in San Francisco, is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Crissy Field Visitor Center.

A bike rack will be dedicated in Mankin's honor, followed by a group ride and pizza at City Cycle.

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN)—The Selling Cycling web- and DVD-based staff training program recently set a new record by surpassing its 300,000th training incident for the 2008 season, according to Ray Keener, Growth Cycle President.

The success is the result of several factors, Keener said.

RAMONA, CA (BRAIN)—­ Ellsworth Handcrafted Bicycles, Inc. has hired David Woronets as operations manager.

Effective June 16, Woronets will oversee Ellsworth's frame building operations in the Portland-Vancouver metropolitan area.

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN)—Eurobike has attracted a record 900 exhibitors from 37 countries for this year’s tradeshow to be held Sept. 4 to 7 in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

Last year, 868 vendors participated in the tradeshow, which was also a record, and 34,280 visitors attended.

Rico Sports Group launched in September 2007. Hutchinson tires hired Rico to act as the company’s sales agent for the North American OEM market.

of the nonprofit Livestrong.org run by the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

LOUISVILLE, CO (BRAIN)—Pearl Izumi has begun operations from its new U.S. headquarters located in Louisville, Colorado.

Louisville is located in Boulder County where Pearl Izumi was launched in the U.S. 27 years ago.

Previously, Pearl Izumi was located about five miles away in Broomfield.

CHICAGO, IL (BRAIN)—Last Thursday’s fundraiser for Barack Obama, organized by SRAM’s F.K. Day and his wife, Leah, raised approximately $175,000 from the bicycle industry.

Besides those at the event, a number of people in the industry contributed money who were unable to attend.
