BOULDER CITY, NV (BRAIN)—Hundreds of retailers will brave the desert heat today and tomorrow to test new road, mountain and electric bikes in Bootleg Canyon trails and paved roads outside of Las Vegas for the last time before Interbike moves to Anaheim next year.
PORTLAND, OR (BRAIN)—The Bike Commuter, Portland’s only bike shop focusing squarely on the bicycle commuter market, is expanding into a larger space in the city’s Sellwood neighborhood.
BOULDER, CO (BRAIN)—Eleven civic leaders from the San Francisco Bay Area visited four Dutch cities August 30-September 3, to study advanced transportation practices and focus on bicycling solutions.

Bike sharing—the next generation—arrived in the United States on Earth Day, appropriately enough. Colorado officials including Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper joined hundreds of enthusiasts, who set out on bright red bicycles supplied by B-cycle, a system designed by Trek and partners.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (BRAIN)—Interbike has announced the details of the Tour de Lake Mead, a 24-mile ride that takes participating Interbike attendees through Lake Mead National Park to the lake and back. The ride leaves from the Interbike OutDoor Demo location in Boulder City, Nevada on Sept. 21, at 8 a.m.
