Sumner pens guide to Colorado's best road rides

BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Veteran cycling journalist Jason Sumner's latest book, "75 Classic Rides Colorado: The Best Road Biking Routes," focuses on routes from easy to epic around Sumner's native state.

Sumner has been writing about cycling since 1999 and has covered the Tour de France, the Olympics and dozens of other international cycling events. Sumner contributes to a variety of cycling titles, and is the features editor for RoadBikeReview.com and Mtbr.com. He previously authored the book "Bicycling: 1,100 All Time Best Tips."

The book features rides along the Front Range, urban Denver, the Eastern plains, the Four Corners region and the Rockies.

Routes range from 5.8 to 515 miles, including three multiday tours. Each ride profile includes a difficulty rating, distance, ride time, and elevation gain. The book has an at-a-glance chart to help select your ideal ride, mileage logs, downloadable cue sheets, elevation profiles, route maps, and full-color photos throughout.

The book is 304 pages with 85 color photos and 76 maps. Retail is $24.95 . The book is also available as an ebook on Kindle, the Nook, and other platforms.
